The Killers celebrate ‘Sam’s Town’ 10-year anniversary with charity fundraiser event

In celebration of the Killers’ 10-year anniversary of their sophomore record Sam’s Town, the group took over the Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall to both celebrate the album's release and raise money for charity.

“The closest thing I can get to the fountain of youth is playing Sam's Town at Sam's Town,” drummer Ronnie Vannucci says.

The Sam's Town Extravaganza gave fans a deeper glimpse into into the group's heartfelt love letter to their hometown, with intimate acoustic sets, a bus tour of the surrounding area and a performance of Sam’s Town in full, along with other hits from the band's celebrated catalogue.

And even more than simply celebrating the record's success, 100 percent of the proceeds from the Sam's Town Extravaganza benefitted Las Vegas charities Toni’s House and First Friday Foundation, which support recovery for the homeless and those struggling with addiction and bring arts and culture initiatives to underserved communities.

Check out the photos from the event below, and pre-order the Killers' vinyl re-issue of Sam’s Town, featuring a previously unreleased song “Peace Of Mind,” which will be available Oct. 7 via Bong Load Records.
