Band parodies the lengths of making money, getting fans to shows—watch

Alt-rock act Vendetta Red are going full metal in their new video for “Encantado” as they parody the pain in marketing and getting fans to a local show.

Masquerading as GORELORE, the four-piece truly get into character with face paint and all.

Channeling the pain of having no one check “Going” on your Facebook event or opt-in for cheap demonic sacrifices to raise money, the band resort to the unexpected.

Like high school sports teams before them, they get suited up to make some serious cash in a video that needs to be seen to be believed.

“The video is something that we wanted to be entertaining and really showcase our sense of humor,” the band says. “Honestly, it could be used for any song on the album really, but the team did an excellent job with a tiny budget, and it cracks me up every time I watch it.”

While the sentiment behind the video is humorous, the message behind the song is a much more serious topic as it’s inspired by Against Me! frontwoman Laura Jane Grace.

“I am completely in awe of her, and her struggle has really challenged my own sense of what it means to identify with a gender, or neither gender,” the band reveals. “Watching this person become who they were [and] always meant to be has been extremely beautiful and encouraging for young people especially. She has inadvertently helped me become a more accepting and conscientious person, [and she’s] such an amazingly powerful and outspoken performer.”

“Encantado” is taken from the band’s latest, Quinceañera, which is available now.
