#WakeUpAP: Soupy Campbell of the Wonder Years

We’re asking musicians on tour to show us how they start their day in our new feature, #WakeUpAP.  Today, we caught up with Soupy of the Wonder Years to let us have a peek into his morning…

What city did you wake up in?

I actually woke up at U.S. Customs at like 3 a.m. [coming out of Canada]. They had to pull us all out to check our passports, but it was relatively painless.

What song was your favorite to perform at yesterday's show?

My favorite song last night was actually performed by the crowd when they broke into a spontaneous round of “Oh, Canada.” It was honestly the most memorable moment we've had at a show in a while.

What did you dream about last night?

It was weird. I was going to go live on a small rock island in the middle of a lake to prove some sort of political point that's pretty hazy now that I'm awake. What's a little easier to remember right now is that I snuck off the island briefly because I wanted one last snack and was disappointed that the Dairy Queen I went to only had low-fat peanut butter ice cream. I don't know. Dreams are weird.

First song you listened to this morning?

I woke up with “Paralytic States” by Against Me! stuck in my head so I spun that this morning.

What did you have for breakfast?

So far, a banana and a bottle of water.
