Finn Wolfhard is allegedly in talks of appearing in the forthcoming Ghostbusters installment.

Additionally, Variety says that the plot of the upcoming film will center around a single mother and her family, hence the aforementioned roles. However, the studio has yet to officially comment on the movie’s plot.

While we may not have a lot of information, director Jason Reitman said the film was neither a remake or a reboot. Oddly enough, it looks like Reitman may skip over the 2016 remake; As the original 1984 flick’s director’s son, it appears as though Reitman wants to start where his father left off.

“I’ve always thought of myself as the first Ghostbusters fan, when I was a 6-year-old visiting the set. I wanted to make a movie for all the other fans,” Reitman says in a story with Entertainment Weekly. “This is the next chapter in the original franchise. It is not a reboot. What happened in the ‘80s happened in the ‘80s, and this is set in the present day.”

“I have so much respect for what Paul [Feig] created with those brilliant actresses, and would love to see more stories from them,” Reitman says of the all-female Ghostbusters remake. “However, this new movie will follow the trajectory of the original film.”

In addition to Reitman also co-writing the film, the third Ghostbusters will also be written by Gil Kenan, according to IMDb.

Additionally, Sony has projected a release day of July 10, 2020 for the film. According to Entertainment weekly, the project will begin shooting in a few months.
