Five Faves: Forever The Sickest Kids' Jonathan Cook on the best BBQ in Texas

We here at AP know you internet denizens love lists. And we know that folks in bands have other interests beyond cranking out decibels. So here’s Five Faves, a column that solicits a list of five subjects from a number of various rockers.

This week, Jonathan Cook of FOREVER THE SICKEST KIDS lets you in on the best barbeque in his home state. (Hope you're hungry!)

Luling City Market – Houston, TX
This place has the coolest vibe of any place on my list. The side dishes are excellent, and it's located in the downtown square of the town famous for its watermelon seed-spitting contest.

Cooper's BBQ – Llano, TX
Greasy and easy. You pick your meat by pointing to a gentleman who then opens a massive smoker. You buy it by the pound—and feel the pounds being added on!

Cousin's BBQ – Fort Worth, TX
Great hometown restaurant. I grew up on this place after church on Sundays, and their sausage and loaded baked potato casserole are my two faves.

Roscoe's Smokehouse – Burleson TX
Their hamburgers are marinated and slow cooked just like an award-winning steak. This place is a must-visit, and the live music is always a plus.

Buc-ees Truckstop – New Braunfels, TX
If you walk into this largest truck stop in the state, don't leave without trying their barbeque. My choice is the chop beef sandwich made fresh in front of you.
