We here at AP know you internet denizens love lists. And we know that folks in bands have other interests beyond cranking out decibels. So here’s Five Faves, a column that solicits a list of five subjects from a number of various rockers.

In honor of A Rocket to the Moon’s sophomore album Wild & Free, which comes out next week, frontman Nick Santino picks his favorite lyrics from the new record.

We put a lot of time into writing our new record Wild & Free. One of my favorite parts of the writing process is being able to get cheeky and creative with the lyrics. Here are five of my favorite lyrics from Wild & Free.

1. The first is from a song called “I Do”: “I love that your Sunday’s best is a holey pair of jeans.” Very country, but I thought it was pretty clever when it danced across my brain.

2. Another lyric is from “Another Set Of Wings”: “I need my angel like heaven needs another set of wings.” I remember throwing the idea for this line out there and the whole song just came together. Such an inspiring feeling.

3. Another lyric from the record is from “Ever Enough.” “Everything inside of me is living in your heartbeat.” We are all about sappy love songs so when this one came together, it just felt right. This is also the one lyric in the song that inspired the entire story for the music video.

4. The last track on the record is a song called “Lost & Found.” I had”You need to get lost before you get found”written in my notes on my iPhone for about a year before this song was written. It was something I jotted down in the van on tour, and it came out in a song one rainy day in Nashville.

5. Lastly, one of my favorite lyrics is from “Call It All Home”, a bonus track on the deluxe version. This song is basically an autobiography of A Rocket To The Moon. It's full of tour stories and gives a brief rundown on who we are and where we come from. It's hard to pick a favorite line from this song since they all mean a lot, but in the bridge I sing, “Spent the day off with Johnny and Josh making work seem more like fun/In Arlington Heights we stayed the night getting woken up by the sun/Out on the road, wherever we go, we never feel too alone/Making vans and hotels feel like home.” That song I think will sum up any touring band’s experiences in three-and-a-half minutes.

Be sure to pick up A Rocket To The Moon’s new album, Wild & Free, March 26.
