Foo Fighters would have no problem playing the Super Bowl

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl says his band would rock a Super Bowl right. Instead, it looks like we’re getting Maroon 5 at the popular CBS halftime show this NFL season’s end. Wanna know what Dave has to say about it?

Well, it would appear that Mr. Grohl and his band of merry Foos have actually been approached about playing the Super Bowl before. But, once the deal is sealed, the illustrious gig always ends up going to someone else.

“They say, ‘We want to have a rock and roll band. Do you think you could do it? Do you think you could do a stadium?’” the former Nirvana drummer and head Foo Fighter tells KROQ. “I was like, ‘Yeah man, we do it all the time.'”

“they say, ‘We want to have a rock and roll band. Do you think you could do it? Do you think you could do a stadium?’ I was like, ‘Yeah man, we do it all the time.'”

Yes, that infuriating exchange is apparently what happens when the NFL reaches out to Grohl. “We’re like, ‘Oh my god, I think we’re gonna do the Super Bowl!’” he adds. “And then it’ll be Madonna or Katy Perry or someone like that.”

The football revelation comes from Grohl and fellow Foo Taylor Hawkins‘ recent chat with the radio station, of which you can see a video right here. Come on, obviously Dave and the boys have the stuff for a football show, right?

Then again, Maroon 5 have been rumored to rock the Super Bowl for the past three years. But maybe next time we’ll get a Foo Bowl Spectacular, as echoed by Loudwire. Who do you wanna see play the halftime show? Sound off, below.

Super Bowl LIII airs Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019.
