10 pop-punk shows we wish we could have gone to

There’s nothing like the rush you get when you buy tickets to your favorite pop-punk band or the excitement you feel lining up for a show. When our favorite bands happen to be touring together, naturally we have to go.

However, there are just some tours that slipped out of our fingers or happened before we had the ability to go to shows by ourselves. From Green Day with blink-182 to No Doubt with Paramore, here are a few pop-punk tours we wish we could have gone to.

Strange Times, the sci-fi book collection and multimedia concern from former blink-182 member and current To The Stars Media head Tom DeLonge, is now in development as a series with television network TBS, as reported by Variety. “We hope to create something that could be described as sort of a ‘science fiction Disney,’” says DeLonge.

The upcoming series will be written and executive produced by Aaron Karo. DeLonge will also executive produce, along with Russell Binder of Strike Entertainment and Stan Spry and Jeff Holland of management and production firm The Cartel.

“This is a dream I’ve had for over 10 years,” DeLonge shares, “and it’s finally a reality. All the stories and themes I work on are meant to be shared through multiple mediums and on different platforms—film, TV, books, music and so on.”

Strange Times was birthed as a graphic novel following DeLonge’s split with blink and his widely-reported foray into ufology. Later, it was reported that the work was being turned into a motion picture screenplay by the former musician.

And it looks like the series will possibly hark back to DeLonge’s signature sophomoric humor in blink. Per the creative, the show will combine elements of comedy with his ongoing interests in the otherworldly and extraterrestrial.

“My love for all things paranormal and skateboarding are sometimes only superseded by my love for offensive humor,” DeLonge says in an associated press release for the imminent new program. “This series combines them all into one.”

“Tom is a storyteller,” offers executive producer Binder. “His experiences and his interests are vast, and his desire to share those with a broad and diverse audience is an itch we are beginning to scratch. Strange Times is a comedic take on the tropes of coming of age, friendship, and how to escalate ways to humiliate your best friends while staying out of detention, and ideally, the hospital.”
