On May 25, Minneapolis resident George Floyd was tragically killed by police after one of the four police officers involved in his arrest knelt on his neck in an incident caught on video (warning: the video is very graphic).

46-year-old Floyd died during his arrest leading to his sister Bridget Floyd calling for the four officers involved to be charged with murder as protests are breaking out and investigations into his death have been launched.

The four officers involved were fired yesterday (May 26) after the incident which saw the main officer in question kneeling on his neck for several minutes. He can be heard saying the words "I can't breathe" while the officer continues planting his knee into his neck.

George Floyd was a member of Houston's hip-hop community prior to moving to Minneapolis. He worked with prominent artists in the city's scene including the Screwed Up Click which was led by late icon DJ Screw.

Many artists from the worlds of hip-hop and beyond are reacting to George Floyd's death calling for a change in the systemic racism displayed through police brutality with decades and decades of incidents showing the issue.
