Gerard Way celebrates release of new book in Instagram post

Gerard Way’s Umbrella Academy will officially return tomorrow (Oct. 3) and to celebrate the comic’s release, Way shared a sweet message to his Instagram. Check it out below!

Announced a few months ago, Gerard Way’s comic book series was getting picked up by Dark Horse Comics for the release of the book’s third series The Umbrella Academy: Hotel Oblivion.

The first book will officially drop tomorrow, Oct. 3, and it will be told in seven issues.

So, in order to celebrate the release of the book, Way has decided to add a “few extras to the experience” by posting snippets on his Instagram page, and we’ll be sure to keep our eyes glued to his page for any updates.

Tomorrow signals the official return of The Umbrella Academy with Hotel Oblivion #1. It’s a story about time and age and mistakes and redemption. I am extremely proud of this body of work from Gabriel Bá, Nick Filardi, Nate Piekos and myself, presented by Dark Horse Comics.
‘Hotel Oblivion’ is important to me, along with you guys— so important to me that I’m gonna be adding a few extras to the experience right here on my Instagram.

We’re beyond excited to get our hands on a copy of this book, and here’s what we know so far:

According to the description, the series will return “stranger than ever,” where we’ll see the superheroes dealing with some pretty complicated stuff. Check out official synopsis in full below:

“The Umbrella Academy: Hotel Oblivion finds the Umbrella Academy scattered after Sir Reginald Hargreeves’ death. Number Five is a hired gun, Kraken is stalking big game, Rumor is dealing with the wreckage of her marriage, a rotund Spaceboy runs around the streets of Tokyo, Vanya continues her physical therapy after being shot in the head—and no one wants to even mention Seance until issue #2.”
