The upcoming Goosebumps movie has had its ups and downs in the production process. With name changes, release date pushbacks and more, things haven't been looking too great for the flick.

In a recently uploaded picture from the flick's Frankenstine monster, Ken Jeong, it appears as though the production of the film is finally underway. Jeong shared the behind-the-scenes picture on his Twitter of himself dressed as Frankenstein, with the movie's director Ari Sandel, while the set of the family-friendly horror flick.

In another photo shared from the set, Jeong shared a picture of himself while an ominous looking pumpkin lurked behind him:

In addition to the latest post from the film, the movie's official Twitter account shared our first look at Slappy:

We're pretty sure our nightmares of the evil ventriloquist’s dummy are back.

As previously reported, the film was originally titled Slappy Halloween, but the company behind the creation of the forthcoming flick, Sony, decided to change the name. So, the title and the family-friend horror flick will now be titled Goosebumps: Haunted Halloween. While the name changed, the premise of the film still appears to revolve around one of Stine's creepy stories, and this time, it’s expected to feature one of Stine's most terrifying villains: Slappy, the evil ventriloquist’s dummy.

Yep, the new film is slated to follow the ventriloquist’s dummy that gave us all nightmares, and as Backstage reports, Slappy is “hell-bent on jump-starting the Halloween apocalypse,” and the “three friends must stop the stuffed adversary before he ruins Halloween for good.”

We also know that the show is set to star Peyton Wich, who played one of the bullies in the first season of Stranger Things. Wich will also be joining Jeremy Ray Taylor (Ben Hanscom in Stephen King's It), Madison Iseman, Ben O’Brien and Caleel Harris in the upcoming flick. Jack Black will also be coming back to reprise his as R.L. Stine from the 2015 film.

There's still no official word on when the film will be hitting theaters, but as ComicBook.com reported, the release date was recently set to Oct. 12, a date that doesn't seem likely anymore, considering filming started earlier in March.

Even though it looks like we'll have to wait for the movies to hit theaters, we're pretty excited, and slightly terrified, for the new faces and creepy characters we're sure we'll see in Goosebumps: Haunted Halloween.
