Apparently this governor is a huge blink-182 fan like us

There are a ton of ways to celebrate victory. Some people pop champagne, others go to fancy restaurants. twenty one pilots take off their pants and get tattoos of each other’s names, but for blink-182 fan and Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker, there’s another way to mark the occasion.

Election Day was a long day for many politicians. Baker won over 50 percent of his state’s votes allowing him to retain his governor position for a second term. Naturally, this calls for a good, old-fashioned blink-182 concert.

You heard that right. The 61-year-old Republican may shock some people with his music choices, but according to the Boston Globe, he’s headed to see the band this weekend

Departing this morning and returning Monday, the governor is traveling to Las Vegas with his family to attend a concert of one of his favorite bands, blink-182,” a spokeswoman from Baker’s office states.

According to Boston Magazine, the governor also digs Green Day and Dropkick Murphys if his Facebook “likes” are any indication.

This isn’t the first time Baker has seen the pop-punk trio live. In 2015, he recalled taking his children to a blink-182 show in Mansfield. At the gig, he was touched when a band member publicly acknowledged an audience member in uniform.

“‘There’s a guy here in uniform. Can you stand up?’” Baker recalled an unnamed blink member saying. “The guy stood up, and the band member looked out at him and he said, ‘I just want to tell you how much we appreciate what you and all your brothers and your sisters are doing for our country.’”

His love for music runs deeps because Baker even promised voters he would “let it rock” during his time serving in office on Tuesday night.

blink are currently playing their first residency at Vegas’ Pearl Concert Theater. The band are scheduled to play Nov. 9, 10, 16 and 17. Tickets and VIP packages are all available here.

The trio have been working hard on new music, too. They just teamed up on “Why Are We So Broken” with DJ and producer Steve Aoki.

At least one thing is certain. No one can be bored to death at a blink show.
