Green Day claim 10th No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative Songs Chart with ‘Bang Bang’

Green Day’s Revolution Radio has been a hit on the Billboard charts. After nabbing the No. 1 spot on Billboard's 200, selling 95,000 album units in the first week of sales, the group have claimed their tenth No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative Songs Chart with the album’s lead single, “Bang Bang.”

With this, Green Day have tied with Foo Fighters for third-most leaders in the chart’s 28-year history. At this point, Red Hot Chili Peppers have 13 Alternative No. 1 albums, and Linkin Park has 11.  

Green Day is also one of five acts to top the Alternative Songs Chart in three different decades, with “Longview” from 1994's Dookie, “Know Your Enemy” from 2009's 21st Century Breakdown and “Bang Bang” from 2016's Revolution Radio.
