Halsey releases “Ashley version” of ‘Manic’ cover art signed with real name

Halsey just announced that she is releasing an extremely limited version of her new album Manic. Manic dropped on Jan. 17 and has been a huge hit. Considering the intimacy of the album, Halsey decided on some great ideas.

Manic is now available with its alternate album art and will be signed by Halsey but under her birth name Ashley.

Halsey took to Instagram today to announce that she’s releasing some very limited edition CDs of her album Manic. In a video, she talks about what the CDs are and why she’s making them so special.

“So I had an idea. I was talking to Garret last night and I was congratulating him on the art and everything, Halsey says. “We were talking about this one version the Manic cover art that we both really fell in love with before we landed on the one of my face. And he and I were talking about how we believed that was the Ashley version of the record. So, we’re gonna do it, and I’m going to make it. And, I’m going to sign some of them as Ashley and put them up in the store.”

“I’ve never signed anything as Ashley before though. I just thought it would be a really cool way of kinda having both versions of me; the Halsey signature on the flashy cover and the Ashley signature on the kind of dark, more personal one. I don’t know how many of you guys would be interested in something like this but you know, I’m gonna put a couple of them up and I just thin it would be a cool thing to do. So, go get them before I change my mind and think this is a terrible idea.”

Halsey spoke about how Manic is such a personal album at her album release party last week.

“When I made Manic, I dove into those parts of me that weren’t healed yet and I said, ‘No, I’m not gonna wait ’til later. I’m gonna write about them right now,'” Halsey said from the stage. “It was the most rewarding thing that I have ever done because you guys have been so unconditionally accepting of that, so thank you for being accepting of me.”
