‘Harry Potter’ gift wrap captures film replicas from original designers

While many of us are still reveling in the final days before Halloween creeps past another year, some have been counting down the days to Christmas since last year. Harry Potter fans are about to be twice as stoked as new wrapping paper has hit the internet.

However, this isn’t just your Hallmark brand wrapping paper as it was crafted by two graphic designers with direct ties to the film series.

Miraphora Mina has worked on the films since The Sorcerer’s Stone while Eduardo Lima came on from Prisoner Of Azkaban and on. Both graphic designers also worked on the companion films Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them and The Crimes of Grindelwald.

Together, Mina and Lima came together under the design shop House of MinaLima where they sell Potter-inspired print items. The new wrapping paper comes in seven designs that span obvious Potter nods to subtle immersions.

The designers explain where each paper’s design was featured with the first appearing in Order Of The Phoenix. The “Christmas Elf” gift wrap and “Santa’s Sleigh” capture the Christmas scene at 12 Grimmauld Place where Arthur Weasley is seen recovering from a Nagini bite.

There’s also the beloved Marauder’s Map-inspired wrap, which first appeared in Prisoner Of Azkaban. Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew, Sirius Black and James Potter created the map to keep track of people throughout Hogwarts grounds, and while the interior continued to evolve, its cover stayed the same.

Sirius inspired another gift wrap, which utilizes the Black Family Tapestry. Created in the 13th century, the design features the Black Family Tree, which is housed at 12 Grimmauld Place. Sirius is actually missing as some of the depictions were burned out due to being disowned.

There’s a “Hogwarts Library” gift wrap that features the covers of books MinaLima designed for the series. “The Daily Prophet” also got its own wrapping paper, capturing the primary source of news for the Wizarding World. Finally, there’s an extra special Quidditch gift wrap that utilizes the background dressing of the Quidditch World Cup’s set.

All of the gift wraps are on preorder and will be available beginning Nov. 4. Check them all out here.
