Madison Square Garden is Harry’s House. Kicking off his 15-night residency, Harry Styles brought his Love On tour to New York City in support of his third album. Before any given concert, thousands of fans gather to take pre-show pictures, clad in flamboyant outfits that both draw inspiration from and pay tribute to Styles. With the hashtag #HSLOTOutfit amassing over 300 million views on TikTok, concert-goers everywhere are sharing their creative concert fashion. Alternative Press caught up with a number of dedicated fans to find out what they love most about Styles’ music and the inspiration behind their outfits.

Why do you love Harry Styles’ music?

I like that it has an old-school feel. It’s not the regular things that are on the radio currently. It has a lot of positivity, in his lyrics and in his writing. I think he’s just really evolved as an artist.

What inspired your outfit?

I went for a disco-era [look] to go along with the current album that’s out.

Why do you love Harry Styles’ music?

His music has been in my life since I was 11 years old. He’s really shaped me as a person. It’s really nice growing up with his music. As his music develops, I grow as a person. I really like that about it. Plus, it’s just really good. It’s just awesome. He makes such great music.

What inspired your outfit?

I like to go out of my comfort zone at these shows. This is not something I would ever wear on a normal day. I like to be loud.

I’ve loved Harry Styles since I was 15, and I’m 27 now. He’s been a whole big part of my life, and I’ve grown with him. I could tell you a lot more. I just love him a lot.

I wanted to look fun and nice. Fun, groovy, chilled out, the vibe.

I have grown up with Harry Styles. He’s just ingrained into my childhood. It just reminds me of my youth and my happiness.

What inspired your outfit?

He has a song called “Cherry,” so I’m wearing a shirt with a cherry on it. I feel he’s always wearing cool sparkles, so I’m wearing sparkly pants.

I love him as a human. I love his motto: Treat people with kindness. I’ve been a fan for 11 years. I just love him.

Harry, of course. And all of his songs. All the fruit.

Why do you love Harry Styles’ music?

We and him have a lot of history. I’ve been liking him since 2011 or 2012. Just something about his voice, I’ve always loved. I love his personality. He feels very familiar to me because of One Direction. I love him because of that, because of what he is now. Every song he’s ever produced, I just love. 

What inspired your outfit?

My inspiration was them. I was supposed to get a matching jumpsuit. However, Free People discontinued the jumpsuit. I waited too long, so I can’t match them. But I tried to fit the ’60s/’70s vibes.

Harry comes from a different place. Honestly, his music is just different. It touches people differently than other artists do. I love him so much. We’re so excited to see him.

Last year, I came to New York to see Harry, and he wore an all-black suit. I’m wearing a black jumpsuit. He was my inspiration for that.

It’s very sparkly, very Harry. I love anything sparkly and Harry. 

Why do you love Harry Styles’ music?

I love Harry Styles because, like her, I’ve loved One Direction since I was 12 years old. We became roommates in college because of One Direction. I love One Direction so much.

What inspired your outfit?

It’s inspired by Harry Styles’ last tour on Oct. 3. He wore all black and feathers. So I wore that. This is my roommate from college, and we’re still here. We’re here because of Harry Styles.
