Hayley Williams’ favorite song from ‘Twilight’ isn’t by Paramore

Nearly 13 years ago, the first film in the Twilight franchise was released. Fans of the book series watched as Edward Cullen and Bella Swan‘s budding, and awkward, romance came to life while songs from Paramore, Muse, Mutemath and Linkin Park played in the background.

Now, it looks like Hayley Williams has a few things to say about the first Twilight soundtrack. As well, the frontwoman just revealed her favorite song from the film and, spoiler alert, it isn’t one by Paramore.

Although the Twilight films aren’t exactly critically-acclaimed, the franchise managed to put out some stacked soundtracks. The first film’s soundtrack truly caters to emo music lovers. More likely than not, Twilight fans heard the album playing on repeat in their local Hot Topic while deciding between a Team Jacob or Team Edward shirt.

Twilight‘s first soundtrack includes some big hits such as Linkin Park’s “Leave Out All The Rest.” As we saw in Stephenie Meyer‘s latest book Midnight Sun, Edward Cullen and Bella Swan once bonded over Linkin Park’s music.

Along with Linkin Park, Paramore have two songs on the Twilight soundtrack – “Decode” and “I Caught Myself.” Although the songs debuted over a decade ago, they’ve still managed to sneak into Paramore’s setlists over the years.

Now, it looks like Hayley Williams has a few thoughts about the Twilight soundtrack. It all started with a tweet from Phoebe Bridgers. The Grammy-nominated artist tweeted that it’s a good thing the film’s soundtrack wasn’t around when she started making music.

“the twilight soundtrack really dodged a bullet by existing before I made music.”

Williams, however, clearly disagrees.

“it is with a single grain of humility and a mild sense of authority on the subject that i’d like to disagree.”

One fan argues that Paramore actually produced the best songs to appear on the Twilight soundtrack.

“the smile of the person who wrote the best songs for Twilight soundtrack.”

For Williams, she seemingly reveals there’s one song from the film that she enjoys more than Paramore’s. However, the track didn’t actually make it onto the Twilight soundtrack.

The Radiohead song appears during the film’s credits, but for some reason, it never made it onto the official soundtrack.

Williams’ latest tweets have led to a slew of reactions online. For the most part, fans are calling for “Decode” and “I Caught Myself” to finally be put onto streaming services. Currently, only a live version of “Decode” is available on Spotify.

As well, a lot of fans are revealing that Twilight is what led them to hear Paramore for the very first time.
