Hear Hayley Williams serenade her loved ones in "Find Me Here"

It’s only been about seven months since Hayley Williams released her debut solo album Petals For Armor. However, it looks like Williams is already back with a new song for fans.

On Friday, the Paramore frontwoman debuted her new EP Petals For Armor: Self-Serenades. Along with two reworkings of “Simmer” and “Why We Ever,” the latest release also includes the calming new track “Find Me Here.”

Back in May, Hayley Williams finally dropped her highly-anticipated debut solo album Petals For Armor. Throughout the first half of the year, she shared various personal visuals for tracks including “My Friend,” “Pure Love” and “Taken.” She even teamed up with her Paramore bandmate Zac Farro who directed her “Dead Horse” video.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Williams was forced to postpone her Petals For Armor tour. Despite this setback, she finally performed some of her new songs live for the first time for NPR’s Tiny Desk (Home) Concert series.

Now, it looks like Williams just couldn’t wait any longer to share even more new music with her fans. On Friday, she debuted her new EP Petals For Armor: Self-Serenades. The new release includes stripped-down reimaginations of both her lead singleSimmer” and “Why We Ever.” As well, Williams has decided to put out the calming new track “Find Me Here.”

After spending months in isolation at home, Williams soon found herself reimagining her new songs in an effort to fill the void of not being able to perform them live.

“I spent this year at home like everyone,” Williams says. “I hadn’t spent that much time at home alone with my guitar since I was a teen, before Paramore hit the road. Once I realized I’d likely not be performing any of my new songs live for a while I guess it just felt right to play them for myself and re-imagine them, just a little bit lonelier. It wasn’t long before I started writing new songs again and one of the demos I made seemed fitting for this little EP.”

Back in October, Williams first announced that the Petals For Armor: Self-Serenade EP was on the way. Then, on her Instagram Story, she revealed that “Find Me Here” is one of her favorite songs she’s created this year.

“The new, unreleased song is one of my favorites I’ve written this year.”

Williams shares that “Find Me Here” is about allowing loved ones to deal with their struggles and personal problems while still promising to be there when it’s all over.

“‘Find Me Here’ is the feeling of surrendering your loved ones to their own, personal struggles,” she says. “Letting them take their time and come to their own rescue. It’s a hard version of love to learn but it is an important lesson in loving someone well.”

Williams’ new EP arrives just days after Paramore seemingly confirmed they are working on their follow-up to 2017’s After Laughter. Earlier this year, rumors emerged that the trio are working on new music after some changes were made to their social media platforms. Then, a recent comment from Jimmy Fallon eventually caused Paramore to share a cryptic message that fans think confirms new music is arriving soon than we think.
