Hear two new Islander songs from 'Power Under Control'

Islander recently announced details of their sophomore studio album, Power Under Control, set for a summer release on Victory Records. Once again, the band teamed with producer Cameron Webb (Motorhead, Alkaline Trio) at NRG Studios, as they did for their debut LP, 2014's Violence & Destruction.

They've wasted no time sharing the goods—below you can listen to a twofer of unapologetic opener “Darkness” and the infectious “Bad Guy.”

Power Under Control features the recording debut of drummer Arin Ilejay (ex-Avenged Sevenfold), guitarist J.R. Bareis (Love And Death) and bassist Zeke Vasquez (ex-Forever At Last).

On the leadoff track, frontman Mikey Carvajal says, “’Darkness’ is the first song on the record and really sets the mood for where our character is in their life. It's a song about indulging in anything and everything that makes them feel good for a moment, regardless of the outcome. Sadly, this is where our character is at in ‘Darkness’.”
