hemlocke springs, the rising bedroom-pop star who we named as an artist to watch this year, has announced her debut EP, going...going...GONE!
After releasing a string of splashy, ’80s-indebted singles over the past year, the seven-track EP will document her transition from her teenage years into full-blown adulthood. To accompany the announcement, she shared lead single “enknee1,” which is driven by a playful, electro-pop beat as she wonders if she’ll ever find the right person. “Sure, at times I sound a bit silly, but I think it’s used as a way to cover up impending fears that are only bound to grow as I get older,” springs says of the EP. “What better way to deal with that than singing to a beat with self-deprecating lyrics?

“I went through a tough period where I truly disliked myself and wondered if anyone would accept me and love me for who I am,” she adds. “In hindsight, I was a little dramatic and cliché. Nevertheless, it made for a great song, one I finished again after another emotional period!”
