Ice Nine Kills get Disney ban over “violent imagery,” respond with merch
It looks like Mickey Mouse is not a big metal fan as metalcore monsters Ice Nine Kills have been banned from performing at Orlando's House Of Blues by Disney.
In response to the ban, INK have released some limited edition merch featuring some of our favorite Disney characters with a horror twist.
The band were set to perform at the venue on April 26 as part of the upcoming Falling In Reverse tour. It was discovered by fans back in February that Ice Nine Kills were no longer included on the Orlando date.
When one fan inquired about the Florida date, INK revealed they had been banned due to their "violent imagery.""Disney’s House of Blues in Orlando banned us from performing because of our violent imagery. It’s a shame because I know I’ve seen Donald Duck at a show before, he’s an INK fan."
"As many of you know a certain mouse-loving enterprise has deemed us too “evil”, to perform at a certain Orlando venue of theirs," the band writes on Facebook. "Rather than protest, we are accepting this seemingly misguided assumption with great honor. To celebrate the banishment, we are dedicating our ‘Nightmare on the Ninth’ monthly special to the launch of TooEvilForChildren.com. Check out our most devilish designs yet, and bask in the darkness of Lucifer, with your favorite horror-loving psychopaths. These shirts are extremely limited and will never be available online again."
Ice Nine Kills are not the first band to be banned by the Mouse. Others such as letlive. and Every Time I Die have also been banned from performing on Disney grounds.
