Ice Cube to play Scrooge character in contemporary 'A Christmas Carol' film

Universal Pictures will soon begin work on Humbug, a contemporary reboot of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, and they've already got their sights set on a perfect Scrooge character. According to a report from Deadline, Ice Cube will take the lead part.

Ice Cube will produce the effort, alongside Jeff Kwatinetz, with writers Todd R Jones and Earl Richey Jones as co-producers. Deadline also reports that film will likely see a release in 2017, presumably for the holiday season. 

With that famous grumpy scowl, it's hard to image a scenario where this casting decision isn't pure gold.
