It looks like MGK and Travis Barker are working on even more new music

It’s been less than two months since Machine Gun Kelly released his Travis Barker-produced album Tickets To My Downfall.

Now, it looks like fans could be hearing even more new music from the duo in the future.

On Sept. 25, MGK released his first-ever pop-punk album Tickets To My Downfall. Along with features from Halsey, Trippie Redd, blackbear and iann dior, Barker provided drums and produced the entire LP. Tickets To My Downfall eventually went on to become MGK’s most successful release yet when it debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200, the first-ever in his career.

Even though the album is now out, it looks like MGK and Barker aren’t wasting any time working on even more new music. On Tuesday, the blink-182 drummer confirmed on Twitter that he is back in the studio with Machine Gun Kelly. From the looks of it, the duo already has plenty of new material in the works.

On Barker’s Instagram story, he also revealed that he and MGK aren’t in the studio alone. Jaden Hossler aka Jxdn has also been collaborating on new music with the duo. Barker shared a video of them together in the studio, hinting that this latest project might be released through DTA Records, Barker’s own label that Jxdn is signed to.

Along with working on new music, both Barker and Machine Gun Kelly have been busy with other projects. blink-182 are currently working on their follow up to 2019’s NINE. Last month, Matt Skiba revealed that their new batch of songs reminds him of the band’s Enema Of The State and Take Off Your Pants and Jacket days.

Barker originally stated that the new blink-182 release was slated to arrive at the end of the summer. However, as we’ve seen this year, the ongoing pandemic likely caused the release to be delayed.

As for Machine Gun Kelly, he and Mod Sun recently filmed a musical based on Tickets To My Downfall. Although no release date has been shared yet, MGK previously revealed to NME that the project is basically a “pop-punk Grease.” The entire movie was filmed in four days and also features TikTok star Chase Hudson.

Both MGK and Barker act as narrators in the film, but the main storyline focuses on other characters.

“It focuses on other characters,” Machine Gun Kelly said. “And then me and [Barker] are just the narrators. It’s an interesting concept because it hasn’t been done for an album ever, maybe outside of like Pink Floyd’s The Wall.”
