It looks like Tom Felton has a ‘Harry Potter’ reunion in the works

It’s been almost 19 years since Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone was released in theaters.

Now, Tom Felton has revealed that he has some reunion plans in the work for the upcoming anniversary.

On Nov. 14, 2001, audiences worldwide were introduced to Felton, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and more for the very first time. Together, Harry Potter fans watched the actors bring their favorite book characters to life onscreen, a relationship that carried on until the 2011 release of Deathly Hallows: Part 2.

For Felton, he tells Entertainment Tonight that he is flattered he still gets recognized as Draco Malfoy, a character that wasn’t “particularly the most popular” in the films and books.

“He’s great,” Felton says. “He has so many layers, he’s misunderstood, he’s also a bit of a git. He needs a hug really. I think maybe people feel sorry for him, he needs a bit of affection. Either way, I’m highly flattered and intend to do my best to satisfy that desire.”

Although it’s been almost ten years since the last Harry Potter film was released, Felton still keeps in touch with a lot of his castmates.

“I saw the Weasley twins the other day,” he continues. “We went out to play some golf. Always chatting with a lot of the other guys on WhatsApp and staying in touch with them and making sure everything’s alright.”

With the 19th anniversary of the Sorcerer’s Stone right around the corner, Felton shares he’s trying to get some of the cast together for a rare reunion.

“It’s been nice because it’s the 19th-year anniversary on Nov. 14, so I’m planning some sort of digital celebration,” he says. “I’m trying to wrangle all the oldies back together again to celebrate the achievement really.”

Felton didn’t reveal any further information about his upcoming reunion plans. However, Potterheads can follow Felton as he takes part in the now-viral #DracoTok trend. TikTokers are inserting themselves into some iconic Harry Potter scenes opposite Draco Malfoy.

“It’s sort of taken a life of its own now,” Felton says. “But I’m having so much fun with it because if you go to the hashtag DracoTok you see all of these collaborative videos. We’re no longer retweeting or commenting, they’re actually taking things that I’ve done and putting their own spin on it. And then I can see that and put a spin on their stuff. It’s turning into a whole monster of its own. But I’m really, really enjoying it. So yeah, I’m going to keep the DracoTokers happy for as long as I can.”

As well, fans can see Felton take on the new villainous role of Grand Guignol in A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting. The film is about a high school freshman who agrees to babysit on Halloween. Eventually, they are recruited into a secret babysitters society that protects children with special powers from monsters.

“I had so much fun doing it really,” he says. “They kind of gave me quite a lot of creative licenses to sort of go as crazy as I wanted to. As soon as I started getting trinkets tied in my hair and bags of children teeth attached to my belt, I was loving it and it was impossible to be Tom, really, when you’re in the outfit. There’s no walking around, you’re sort of sauntering everywhere and dancing and gliding around the set.”

A Babysitter’s Guide To Monster Hunting is available to stream on Netflix. As well, all of the Harry Potter films can be streamed for free on NBC’s Peacock.
