The series, tentatively dubbed Welcome To Derry, kicks off in the ‘60s. It’s set to lead up to the events of It: Part One, the 2017 movie based on the Stephen King novel. It will also reportedly include the origin story of Pennywise the Clown.

According to Variety, It: Part One and 2019’s It: Part Two director Andy Muschietti is said to executive produce the series with Barbara Muschietti and Jason Fuchs. A writer’s room has also reportedly been assembled to work off Fuchs’ script.

There’s no official word on whether or not anyone from the It movies will make an appearance in the series. Additionally, there’s no word on if the show has been officially greenlit yet. Only time will tell if the killer clown will return.
