It looks like Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile are recording together

After a few posts on social media teasing that a collaboration between the indie singer-songwriters was likely happening, Australia-based Newmarket Studios has confirmed that Kurt Vile and Courtney Barnett have been working together.

“Kurt Vile & Courtney Barnett collaboration is just the best thing ever,” the studio said in an Instagram post. Check out the photo below!

While details to the duo’s collaboration have yet to be announced, it’s enough to get us excited to see what they’ll be releasing.

Vile’s last album, b’lieve i’m goin down, and Barnett’s debut record, Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit, were both released in 2015.

Barnett is currently working on the follow-up to her debut record, and back in September, she told NME that the record was already half-written.

“I’m really bad at decision making. For me, finishing a song takes so much more effort than starting one. I’ve got some good half-songs for the next record, and maybe they’ll turn into great full songs.”
