We are venturing into the last week of November which means 2020 is about to come to a close. For music lovers out there, this means that the Spotify Wrapped round-up is right around the corner.

Since many of us were homebound due to the coronavirus pandemic, 2020 has been a big year for streaming of all sorts. Back in May, Spotify launched the “my top lockdown songs” feature with Tixel. The feature allowed subscribers to see which artists they were listening to most during COVID-19 lockdown earlier this year.
As well, the platform saw a big increase in streaming numbers during the summer months. Back in August, the service unveiled the top podcasts, artists and songs the world had been listening to most from June 1 – Aug. 15. Dababy, the Weeknd, Harry Styles and Juice WRLD were just a few of the artists to top the summer streaming lists.
Now, it looks like Spotify is preparing to share another round-up to subscribers. On Monday, Spotify confirmed that its highly-anticipated Spotify Wrapped is arriving soon.

So far, Spotify has not confirmed when the 2020 Spotify Wrapped feature will be available. However, in 2019, Spotify Wrapped arrived on Dec. 5. So, it’s possible the feature will arrive around the same time this year.
Last year’s Spotify Wrapped proved that 2019 was a big year for streaming for Billie Eilish and Post Malone. Eilish’s WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? and Posty’s Hollywood’s Bleeding were the top streamed album in 2019. As well, Eilish’s “bad guy,” Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes‘ “Señorita” and Ariana Grande‘s “7 Rings” were amongst the most streamed songs.

Post Malone has continued to break Spotify records in 2020. Back in September, his collab with 21 Savage “rockstar” joined Ed Sheeran‘s “Shape Of You” as the second song to reach 2 billion streams on Spotify. So, it’s possible that we could see Posty break even more records with Spotify Wrapped is finally released.
Since Spotify Wrapped 2020 is almost here, subscribers are already guessing which songs and artists are going to top their streaming lists this year. As well, given the events of this year, many expect their lists to be both unsurprising and reflective of 2020.
