Jack White forcing fans to lock phones away for upcoming shows
In a move that's become all too common, Jack White is taking extra measures to make sure people won't be recording during his show.

As NME reports, White has released a statement saying that shows will be “phone-free,” writing: “No photos, video or audio recording devices allowed.”

We think you'll enjoy looking up from your gadgets for a little while and experience music and our shared love of it IN PERSON.
Upon arrival at the venue, all phones and other photo or video-capturing gizmos will be secured in a Yondr pouch that will be unlocked at the end of the show. You keep your pouch-secured phone on you during the show and, if needed, can unlock your phone at any time in a designated Yondr Phone Zone located in the lobby or concourse.

So, when you show up to the show, you’ll have to lock your phone in a Yondr case, which is exactly what the Misfits did earlier this year. This means you’ll only be able to access it in select areas. However, we all know that didn't exactly work for the Misfits, with hundreds of photos and videos popping up online despite the band's strict “no cell phone” policy.
Of course, that brings up the bigger question: Should phones be allowed at gigs? And is it even possible to maintain a strict no photos policy in 2018 when most everyone has access to a smartphone? Sound off in the comments below.
