Back in December, the Jackass gang announced they would be returning to the big screen in March 2021 with Jackass 4. As the first Jackass film to hit theaters in a decade, fans are excited about the return.

Unfortunately, it has been reported that we may have a wait a little longer to see Johnny Knoxville and company on the big screen.

Variety reported this week that Paramount Pictures has delayed the release of Jackass 4 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Originally slated for March 5, 2021, the film will now be released on July 2, 2021.

The film will mark the return of Knoxville, Steve-O, Bam Margera and more to the big screen since 2010's Jackass 3D. Over the past 10 years, the only Jackass related film to be released was Knoxville's Bad Grandpa in 2013. The new film will also be the first to not include Ryan Dunn who died in a car accident in 2011.

Although the release date has been pushed back, the Jackass stars are still keeping quiet about the film's plot details. However, we can expect to see them engage in all kinds of dangerous stunts and laughs in the film. The three previous Jackass films grossed a combined $335 million worldwide.

Rumors about a new movie were first sparked in April of 2019 when Knoxville posted a photo of the entire Jackass cast together on Instagram.

Later in July 2019, the Jackass cast expressed their desire to do a new film on the Bathroom Break Podcast. The podcast was hosted by former Jackass star Chris Raab.

Jackass 4 is one of my many films and shows delayed due to coronavirus. For Paramount Pictures, they are greatly restructuring their release schedules. Along with the Jackass 4 delay, the production company announced the delay of other films. The Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther) thriller Without Remorse has been moved back two weeks from September 18 to October 2, 2020. A Quiet Place 2 has been pushed to September 4, 2020 and Top Gun: Maverick will now premiere on December 23, 2020.

Along with Paramore Pictures, Disney is also restructuring its release schedule. With some films heading to Disney+, highly-anticipated films including the new Indiana Jones film and various Marvel movies now have pushed back release dates.
