James Franco to star in film adaptation of Stephen King story

James Franco will play the lead in an upcoming film adaption of a story by the master of all things creepy, Stephen King. That story is Drunken Fireworks, and, according to Deadline, Franco could be the director as well.

Rabbit Bandini Productions and Rubicon Entertainment are partnering for the film, and the script is being written by Matt Rager. Franco, his Rabbit Bandini partner Vince Jolivette, and Rubicon's Doug McKay, Robert Kaplan, Marc Senter and Nathan Grubbs will produce.

Drunken Fireworks is a dark comedy that chronicles the arms race between two neighbors over their Fourth Of July fireworks display. The competition becomes increasingly antagonistic as blue collar worker Alden McCausland (Franco) tries to defeat his retired mob boss neighbor.
