James Franco’s band just released a new video
Actor James Franco has a band with his former art school classmate, Tim O’Keefe. The band are named Daddy, and they just released a video for a new song, “This Charming Man,” which you can watch below via Vice.
“We took a ten-poem sequence called The Best of the Smiths: Side A and Side B,” Franco told Vice. “I originally wrote this sequence as a way to use one medium (music) to influence another one (poetry). The Smiths' songs provided inspiration for the poems, lending tone and situation. Once I had the sequence, Tim and I took the material one step further and turned the poems inspired by songs, back into songs of their own.”
The song is taken from the band’s Smiths-inspired album/film, Let Me Get What I Want, which comes out in 2015. They actually got the Smith’s bassist Andy Rourke to play on every song.
