A few months ago, it was confirmed that A Quiet Place sequel would be in the works, but we [still] have yet to learn what it is going to be about. Krasinski has shared his thoughts on the matter, and hopes the film will explore the other survivors.

While things about the forthcoming movie have been kept pretty quiet, it appears Krasinski couldn’t keep quiet about his role in the upcoming film.

Without risking spoilers, the end of the movie left fans wondering what was going to happen for Krasinski when it came time for a sequel, and today, it’s been confirmed that he’s penning the script once more.

Per a report from the Hollywood Reporter, Krasinski was at a Q&A session at the Silver Screen Theatre in Los Angeles when he discussed the latest details of the upcoming horror flick.

With the massive success of the first film, Paramount quickly okayed it for another spin, but Krasinski wasn’t entirely on board with the deal. Deciding that he only wanted this to be a one-time deal, he wasn’t expecting to move forward with the planning of the sequel.

That is, until he got an idea.

“That was my intention for the movie itself,” Krasinski shared. “Then I had this small idea for a sequel, but I didn’t think it would go anywhere. So, I said to the studio, ‘Just go do the movie with somebody else.’”

With his idea in mind, Krasinski remained persistent in talking to Paramount about writing the script – even if they were looking at other people for the position. Luckily, it appears that his persistence paid off.

“They heard some pitches, and I told Drew [Form, producer] about this little idea, and he told me to think about it a little longer,” Krasinski shared. “And then I thought, ‘This might really work.’ So, I’m currently writing the sequel.”

So, with that little announcement made, we can rejoice in the fact that Krasinski (who wrote, directed and starred in the first film) is continuing on with the film!

Since the horror film hit theaters, it has earned success not only at the box office but with critics as well.

A Quiet Place has earned more than $213 million worldwide at the box office, which included $134.8 million in North America. Krasinski’s directorial debut also earned a 95 percent “fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
