Korn vocalist Jonathan Davis has opened up about the band’s highly-anticipated album The Nothing and compared the sound of it to Queen

The band just dropped the first single from the album called “You’ll Never Find Me.” According to Davis, the new full-length is an abstract look on “an extraordinary force” within the world we live in.

“It’s not something we can choose to navigate, but rather an awareness of this presence that surrounds us with every breath, as if we are being watched at every moment,” he explains. “It’s the place where black and white energies attach themselves to our souls, and shape our emotion, choices, perspective and ultimately our very existence.”

You can listen to the first Korn single below.

Now, Jonathan Davis has opened up even more about the deeply personal album and gave fans an insight on what it will sound like.

In an interview with Kerrang!, he said he’s been experimenting with his vocals a lot on the album and was influenced by artists such as Queen and Electric Light Orchestra.

“It’s just a completely different beast. Musically, I think it’s leaps and bounds from that. The guys had fun working with Nick Raskulinecz again, but you could tell my level of involvement from that to that,” he said.

"I mean, shit, on this record there’s some songs that’ve got 20-something vocal tracks on it – I went full-on Queen and ELO! They were some of my influences and I wanted to do some of those big vocal beds. I took my time, I was really into making the vocals sound amazing. I did all kinds of recording shit that I learned over the years, so this wasn’t a week like the last record.”
