Today, LDR followed up her last single “A&W” with “The Grants,” the upcoming record’s opening track. The singer-songwriter born Elizabeth Grant previously stated that her new album focuses a great deal on her family members and family history, and that’s exactly what she dives into on “The Grants.” Her latest collaboration with Mike Hermosa begins with a gospel-like verse and backing vocals from Melodye Perry, Pattie Howard, and Shikena Jones. It goes on to follow LDR as she reflects on the different pieces and memories of her family members that she plans to always hold onto and carry with her through life. Like the debut single and title track, it’s sparse yet stunning, assisted primarily by just a piano and angelic harmonizing.
