Lil Peep’s team shares first message since his death

Lil Peep’s team has shared a first message to fans following the rapper and artist's untimely death earlier this month.

The social media announcement explains that official Lil Peep merchandise will go on sale soon. They have been overwhelmed with love from the fans, and those closest to Peep want to ensure fans receiving what he would have wanted.

“We have been overwhelmed with requests from loving fans hoping to support Gus and his family by purchasing legitimate Peep merchandise,” they write. “To ensure authenticity, all official communications about Lil Peep merchandise, music, or any other art forms, will come from Lil Peep's official verified accounts on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.”

Lil Peep's death at the age of 21 came as a shock to the music community. Presumed an overdose, the musician's brother Oskar recently said the death was accidental: “He was super happy with where he was in life.”

Peep was part of GothBoiClique, cofounded with Wicca Phase aka Adam McIlwee, the ex-singer of Tiger’s Jaw, creating their own hip-hop/emo subgenre that has prompted a massive movement in the music industry. With over 100 million streams to-date, including tracks like “Awful Things” and “The Brightside,” he solidified his standing in the genre-defying movement.

Videographer Wiggy shared a poignant tribute to Lil Peep, featuring a collection of candid footage showing Lil Peep performing, traveling and more. You can watch the powerful video here.
