Linkin Park have forgiven Korn's guitarist for "cowardly" suicide comment

Korn's Brian “Head” Welch fell into some pretty hot water after his “cowardly” suicide comments in regards to Chester Bennington's death, to which he apologized for shortly after.  The controversy seems to be a thing of the past now, with Welch taking to instagram to thank fans and the Linkin Park camp for their forgiveness.

Shortly after Bennington's death, Welch stated on Facebook “this is truly pissing me off” and even went as far to say “Giving up on your kids, fans, and family is the cowardly way out!!!”

Welch later apologized for his response stating: “I didn't mean to sound insensitive about Chester. Just dealing with a range of emotions today. Love you Chester. I'm pissed that you did this, but I know this could have been me back in the day after getting wasted one night.”

The controversy seems to be water under the bridge now, with Welch making an Instagram post earlier today thanking the LP camp, friends and fans for their forgiveness.

“When I heard the news about our friend Chester Bennington I was so sad, hurt and angry. In my shock and confusion I didn’t know how to process my feelings correctly. I spoke out from a broken heart and I want to thank the LP camp, and all of my friends and fans for the forgiveness, understanding and grace that was extended to me. I am honored to celebrate Chester's life with our boys in LP, their fans, and many of my friends and colleagues in the music industry.”

Linkin Park announced a tribute show last week which will take place in Los Angeles, CA on Oct 27 to celebrate the life of Chester Bennington. Members of Korn as well as many other guests are already confirmed to be involved. This will be Linkin Park's first performance since Bennington's unexpected death this past July.
