A Lizzo song was removed from ‘Rock Band 4’ because of its lyrics

Rock Band 4 came out back in 2015 and it’s surprisingly still going strong with new content being frequently added to the game but a new addition of a Lizzo track is causing some controversy over uncensored lyrics.

The game developers recently added her song “Juice” to the game as well as the Strokes‘ “Bad Decisions” and players quickly noticed they never censored the n-word in the Lizzo track’s vocals.

For those who don’t know, Rock Band allows players to virtually play guitar, bass, drums or take on the vocals for a track. The lyrics come along the screen for singers and they have to try to match the pitches for the songs.

Within 48-hours of the songs going up on the game’s online store though, “Juice” was pulled down as they never censored the n-word in the track making people sing it out loud.

The line goes: “The juice ain’t worth the squeeze if the juice don’t look like this/ Hold up, n****, please/ Don’t make me have to take your bitch.”

Developers took notice after several people pointed this out and are temporarily pulling it down.

They are planning on having a censored version of the song back on the marketplace within the next week or so.

The word “bitch” has become common enough that the game’s rating isn’t affected by including it but adding harsher swear words and slang would increase it from a T rating to M. As per company policy to uphold the rating, clean versions of songs are often used instead of their standard versions.

Still, people have recordings of them playing the song online already. You can see one such performance below.
