Louder Than Life is officially canceling their 2020 festival

After calling off all of their spring music festivals, Danny Wimmer Presents is making the unfortunate announcement that Louder Than Life, Hometown Rising and Bourbon & Beyond are all canceling their 2020 editions.

The organizer made the announcement today (April 24) and are offering full refunds for all ticket holders.

After the organizers canceled their spring festivals, they made adjustments to their fall ones including a free fourth day headlined by Metallica at Louder Than Life.

Now, it’s unfortunately not happening at all as they’re acting in accordance with local health authorities’ guidelines on hosting large gatherings.

You can read their statement below.

“In our heart of hearts we hoped and prayed that COVID-19 would not prevent us from having the 2020 Louisville Trifesta. In what feels like a repetitive bad dream, we now have to announce that Hometown Rising, Louder Than Life and Bourbon & Beyond festivals, held at Highland Festival Grounds at Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, KY, are being cancelled for 2020. We are working really hard to bring as much of our 2020 lineups back to 2021.

Even though the festivals are not until September, the advanced planning realities of producing three back-to-back-to-back events have necessitated that a decision be made sooner than later. Our decision also conforms with the advice of health officials.

As with our other cancelled events, we will be offering full refunds to our fans. All purchasers (including transfers from Welcome to Rockville, Sonic Temple and Epicenter) will be notified of their options and procedures via email next week.

We are truly heartbroken it has come to this. We want to thank you for your patience, support and loyalty.

We hope you are staying safe as well as physically and mentally well. We are blessed to have such an amazing Festival Family, and together, as a community, we will get through this.

Team DWP”

Previously, EpicenterWelcome To RockvilleSonic Temple Art + Music Festival and more also were canceled.

This came after the announcement they were closely watching the situation seeing whether or not they would be canceling.

Pass holders were are able to transfer tickets to the 2021 event or exchange for one of the fall festivals.

Now that the fall fests are canceling too, they’ll be updating everyone on their options next week. Whether or not a 2021 event is happening is still questionable as some health experts expect fall 2021 to be when concerts are happening again.
