See L.S. Dunes salute Japanese monster movies in new “Grey Veins” video

L.S. DunesPast Lives was one of last year’s greatest debuts, and now the supergroup are back with a music video for “Grey Veins.”

In the visual, the band create their own Japanese monster movie, with the members (Anthony Green, Frank Iero, Travis Stever, Tim Payne, and Tucker Rule) playing soldiers in a war against a creature that threatens the survival of their planet. It plays out gloriously, with Lego minifigures driving most of the scenes.

“[The Japanese film genre] kaiju is something I have been fascinated by ever since I was a kid, and I have always wanted to do an homage to that art form in a music video. I love that L.S. Dunes is such an open-minded and inspiring collective of artists that allowed me to chase that idea and make that dream a reality. ‘Grey Veins’ felt like the perfect song to pair with this concept, and so when the time came, I knew David and Allie at My Good Eye, our frequent collaborators, were the perfect match to bring this to fruition,” Frank Iero says.

Plus, L.S. Dunes are going on tour this summer, with the run kicking off July 9 in Nashville and wrapping Aug. 11 in Garden Grove, California. They will also play five shows with Sad Summer Festival in July. Grab tickets here.
