Lyft and Taco Bell are partnering for “Taco Mode,” meaning your ride can now include tacos

Lyft and Taco Bell are collaborating for one of the best partnerships we’ve seen to date. The app will let you choose a stop at Taco Bell—and pay for your food through the app—on the way to your destination, Mashable reports.

Lyft combining with Taco Bell is a night out partnership at its best, as the Lyft explains.

“We enjoy bringing new experiences to life for our passengers, and Taco Mode allows them to extend the night in a way that hasn't been done before,” Melissa Waters, Lyft's head of marketing, said in a statement, Mashable explains.

“We're combining two of our passengers' favorite activities—a night out with friends and enjoying Taco Bell—which means there is even more of the night to love.”

Lyft's head of marketing, Melissa Waters, explains to The New York Times that this is different from other food delivery services since it's not just delivering food to you—you're extending your night out by getting the food with your BFFs.

“It’s pretty obvious there’s a lot of food delivery out there and lots of apps and services that allow you to take food to people,” Ms. Waters tells The New York Times. “This is really turning this concept on its head of just delivering food to delivering you to food and extending the night.”

When you choose to stop at Taco Bell from your Lyft, you get a free Doritos Locos taco. It’s available in beta mode in California from July 27 to 29 and Aug. 3 to 5 from 9 p.m. and 2 a.m., and it’s supposed to head to more markets by the end of the year, with a nationwide launch in 2018.
