Machine Gun Kelly reveals Travis Barker-produced pop-punk album name

Machine Gun Kelly has been offering hints of a Travis Barker-produced pop-punk album over the past few weeks. Now, the musician has finally revealed its name.

The duo hit Beats 1 to chat with Zane Lowe about the upcoming release. MGK previously confirmed with the host in December that the album will have a stacked array of collabs with plans to drop it in the first quarter of 2020.

Earlier today, Machine Gun Kelly teased something was coming later. Writing, “announcement coming today just to get the year started .. can u guess what it is ?”

Prior to the name reveal, MGK has been posting studio clips over the past few weeks. Featuring Barker, Escape The Fate guitarist Kevin “Thrasher” Gruft and more, each post teased “the untitled pop punk album.” Having hit the 20th session today, MGK finally filled in that title.

Today, Barker and MGK headed to the Beats 1 studio to chat with Lowe where the latter revealed the album will be called Tickets To My Downfall. So, rest easy blink-182 fans because there will only be one untitled pop-punk project.

MGK later shared the reveal with a two-second clip of the interview, writing, “the untitled pop punk project has a name. ??? @travisbarker”

He immediately followed it up with just the name in case fans didn’t catch it in the short clip.

He also took to Instagram to joke about the short length of the clip, writing, “wanna watch the most annoying video ever? ? #TicketsToMyDownfall” alongside a video of him watching it.

With just six months passing since the release of his fourth full-length, Hotel Diablo, Machine Gun Kelly is continuing to defy expectations in more ways than one with the promise of a pop-punk album in 2020. First teased as a rock album amid studio sessions with Travis Barker, blackbear, Goody Grace, Mod Sun and more, MGK updated his plans for a pop-punk album.

Making good on that promise, the musician dropped “why are you here” in mid-December, later debuting it live at his hometown XXMAS show with co-writer Grace. With the release of the new single, MGK cited it as inspiring him to go this route of “all live singing [and] instruments” and confirmed with Beats 1 that the subsequent album was in the works with Barker.

MGK and Barker previously worked together alongside YUNGBLUD on Hotel Diablo track “I Think I’m OKAY.” Embracing that chemistry once again, MGK revealed the vocalist will return for this album.

Kells also revealed other previous collaborators blackbear, Trippie Redd and Young Thug will be joining him on the new project. MGK didn’t stop there, though, stating his wish list of collabs includes Attila frontman Fronz and the Used vocalist Bert McCracken. MGK concluded the interview by confirming the now named Barker-produced pop-punk release, Tickets To My Downfall, will hit in early 2020 between January and March.
