After sharing a brand new track last week during an Instagram live performance, Machine Gun Kelly spilled more secrets about his forthcoming pop-punk album Tickets To My Downfall that is due out this summer. During a recent interview with MTV News, MGK dished even more details on the highly anticipated release including a new collab with YUNGBLUD about the late rapper Juice WRLD who passed away this past December.

MGK has kept Juice WRLD’s influence alive since his death last year, recently paying tribute to the late rapper during his live show and in a livestream where he performed a riff of “Lucid Dreams.”

Shortly after the sudden passing of Juice WRLD in December, Machine Gun Kelly and YUNGBLUD met up to talk about what happened and eventually ended up in the studio creating the track called “Body Bag.”

“Me and YUNGBLUD got together to drink some beer after Juice had passed because we were like ‘these times are short and it’s just a weird day,’” he said. “The weirdest night happened and we went to the studio the next day and wrote a song about that and it felt like a smash.”

He further shared that he has a few collaborations with YUNGBLUD in the works and that one may be released before Tickets To My Downfall drops this summer.

“Me and him [YUNGBLUD] already have a couple [songs] in the chamber so hopefully one of those will come out before the album and we will hear that.”

Earlier this month, they linked up with Travis Barker again to record a sad version of their hit single “I Think I’m Okay,” teasing a clip on Twitter.

Collaborating closely with Barker as a producer on this album, MGK has also previously revealed that past collaborators such as blackbear, Young Thug, Trippie Redd and more will be contributing to this new project.

Machine Gun Kelly recently landed one of his dream collabs, revealing the Used’s vocalist Bert McCracken joined him in the studio in January.

Along with a number of collaborations on the new album, Machine Gun Kelly also talked to MTV News about his decision to do a genre switch with Tickets To My Downfall, a decision that has been followed with both excitement and scrutiny since its announcement.

“I don’t care what people have to say about the genre switch,” he said. “People can love everything and very rarely in these times can we have someone do two things well and I’m just trying to be one of those people.”

MGK recently gave fans a taste of the sound they can expect to hear, posting a video during a meeting at Interscope Records featuring what can be assumed to be a clip from the upcoming album.
