‘Maleficent’ sequel drops sinister first teaser trailer

Earlier this year, we learned that the highly-anticipated Maleficent sequel was coming to theaters way earlier than we thought.

Now, we finally have our first teaser trailer for the film, and it looks amazing.

Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil was confirmed previously by Disney. In September 2017, Angelina Jolie assured fans that she’d be returning as the titular villain. In addition, Elle Fanning will return to the sequel as Aurora.

Then we found our that the film’s release date was moved from May 29, 2020 to October 18 of this year.

When that announcement was made, the film shared a seriously sinister poster of Jolie as the infamous villain that got us pumped for more.

Now, we finally have our first teaser, and get to see some old and new characters come to life on screen yet again.

The Disney trailer boasts some seriously impressive costumes and special effects that we are dying over.

Besides Jolie and Fanning, Imelda Staunton, Lesley Manville and Juno Temple will be returning to the film. Also, Michelle Pfeiffer, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Harris Dickinson, Warwick Davis and Ed Skerin also star in the film.

The film is directed by Joachim Ronning, which differs from the original which was directed by Robert Stromberg.

Speaking of the original, when that film originally hit theaters in May of 2014, it grossed a box office total of over $758 million on a $180 million budget. If you haven’t seen the first film yet, watch a trailer for it below:
