Marvel reportedly working on a Winter Soldier and Falcon limited series
There’s no better relationship in the Marvel Cinematic Universe than the testy relationship between Captain America‘s best friends, Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
In a new report from Variety, it appears that fans of the MCU will be seeing a lot more of the two superheroes.

Per the report from Variety, Marvel has reportedly given Disney the green light to start pre-production on a limited series featuring Anthony Mackie’s Falcon and Sebastian Stan’s Winter Soldier (aka Bucky Barnes).
Malcolm Spellman, who is best known for his work on Fox’s Empire, is set to pen a draft of the script. The upcoming show, if greenlighted to actually continue as a series, will be a part of Disney’s new streaming service.
As Variety reports, this joint Falcon and Winter Soldier film is just one of many Marvel-related TV shows that will be heading to Disney’s new streaming service, which is set to launch sometime next year.
While we’re beyond excited of the possibility that this show will see the light of day, it’s unclear as to whether or not Mackie and Stan will be going to the small screen for the series.
Of course, that doesn’t mean the possibility of a spinoff from one of the original actors isn’t on the table. A few months ago we reported that Stan wasn’t opposed to the idea of Bucky Barnes getting his own spinoff.
Bucky’s fate in the franchise may seem uncertain, but Stan has previously shared his own thoughts on what Marvel could do with his character. In a recent interview with Variety, Stan hinted that he wouldn’t mind seeing Bucky get his own movie, especially if he could explore the character’s backstory more.
“Of course,” the actor said. “I mean, the thing about these movies is that we’ve had a lot of them, but at the same time, there’s always pieces you feel like you can still explore and go back. Every time you play the character you learn something new and you want to go back and do it, so of course.”
Stan even shared that the solo film could show more of Bucky’s past, saying: “To get into some of the past, for example, that we haven’t seen then I’d be down 100 percent.”
We’d be down 100 percent to see that, too.
