Marvel responsible for cancellation of Donald Glover's animated 'Deadpool'
We’re all super bummed that Marvel‘s animated Deadpool show was shut down before FXX was able to premiere Donald Glover‘s new television project.

Speculations have ranged from Glover’s lack of time management to questioning whether Taylor Swift had something to do with it, but now we have a solid answer as to why our animated antihero didn’t hit the screens—Marvel was responsible for the cancellation.
In a new interview with Variety, FX CEO John Landgraf revealed that the decision had not come from FX whatsoever.
When asked if there was any chance of revival for the animated series, while still including Glover, Landgraf replied, “No. I think that Marvel will revive it, because they have the rights… They didn’t want to do the show that Donald and Stephen [Glover] wrote.”
“We would have done [the] show that Donald and Stephen wrote, but it wasn’t our decision. When Marvel decided not to do that show, we parted company with them as did Donald and Stephen.”
The animated Deadpool series was set to premiere on FXX this year. The adult comedy was already in the works by Glover and his brother Stephen, who co-created a 10-episode first season. The series was never given a name.
Marvel has offered no comment at this time.
