McDonalds is bringing back Szechuan sauce for one day only
Szechuan sauce has gained a resurgence in popularity, thanks to Rick & Morty, and now the sauce will be back at McDonalds for just one day only.

In the surprise April Fools’ Day episode, Rick And Morty creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland decided to fill the episode with references to this legendary sauce and who would have ever guessed that it'd lead to this?
It was first released as a promotional launch that corresponded to the release of Disney’s Mulan, and in the episode, Rick acquires the Szechuan sauce and proves to the Galactic Federation agent that the sauce is actually pretty incredible. (And the agent loved the sauce as much as we do.)
The sauce returns at the end of the episode, too. Rick explodes to Morty about how great this sauce is once again, and if we learn anything, it’s that Rick really loves Szechuan sauce.
“I’ll go out and find some more of that Mulan Szechuan Teriyaki dipping sauce, Morty. Because that’s what this is all about Morty – that’s my one-armed man! I’m not driven by avenging my dead family, Morty, that was fake, I’m driven by finding that McNugget sauce. I want that Mulan McNugget sauce, Morty, that’s my series arc, Morty, if it takes nine seasons. I want my McNugget dipping sauce Szechuan sauce, Morty, that’s what’s going to take us all the way to the end, Morty. Season nine more seasons Morty, nine more seasons until I get that dipping Szechuan sauce, for 97 more years, Morty. I want that McNugget sauce, Morty.”
And for one day only, on October 7, McDonalds will be bringing back Szechuan sauce to pair with their buttermilk crispy tenders, along with “giving away 1,000 limited-edition, hand numbered, screen-printed posters for all 10 sauces in our legendary lineup—including Szechuan Sauce.”
McDonalds is even introducing a brand new signature sauce, but all we're left wondering is.. why can't they just bring back Szechuan sauce for good?
