Memorial show for Jon Bunch (Sense Field/Further Seems Forever) announced

On June 25, the TLA in Philadelphia, PA will host a memorial show for Jon Bunch (Sense Field, Further Seems Forever), featuring performances from Sense Field (with guest vocalists including Taking Back Sunday and the Starting Line), Further Seems Forever, Dave Smalley (full band, performing songs from Dag Nasty, All, Down By Law), Texas is the Reason (acoustic) and more. You can grab tickets here.

Organized by CI Productions, the event will benefit Bunch's son, Jack Bunch. Previously, a west coast benefit show raised over $30,000 for Jack's future education.

“Some of the best and most memorable shows we played were at Philadelphia venues like the First Unitarian Church, The Trocadero and the TLA,” Sense Field guitar player Rodney Sellars said. “It’s incredibly bittersweet that we would return to Philadelphia twelve years later to play one final show, in the memory of Jon, who we wish more than anything was still with us.  Instead we’ll honor his memory and help support his family the best way we know how.”

“It's really an honor to be asked to play this show,” commented Dag Nasty, ALL, Down By Law singer Dave Smalley. “It's a great thing to remember great people like Jon, and music that mattered to so many. Jon was a musician who even in the brutal genre of music we are in, pushed boundaries. While I know there is sadness at the reason for this concert, there should also be joy because music lives on and will continue to make a difference. RIP bro. We exist for  a moment only, and you made yours count.”

“Jon Bunch was an incredible person who brought a light into this world that will never go out,” Further Seems Forever’s Derick Cordoba added. “Unfortunately, he is gone, and we felt that it’s important to celebrate his life and his music, raise money for his son and honor him by playing the music we were privileged to make with him, and that’s what we are here to do.”

Jon Bunch passed away on Jan. 31 of this year.
