Memphis May Fire are teaming up with AP to unveil their latest music video for “Heavy Is The Weight” featuring Andy Mineo.

Plucked from the band’s latest full-length, Broken, this is the second track from the new record to get an accompanying music video.

Frontman Matty Mullins drew inspiration from the feeling of performing in front of an audience, saying the band looked to recreate that energy.

“The idea for the video was to capture the vibe and emotion of the song in a live performance setting,” Mullins says. “We rarely do videos that are strictly live performance, but this song was a great opportunity to do so.”

The video shows Memphis May Fire washed in an orange light while chugging through the track in a warehouse setting before a TV flickers on, handing the reins over to Mineo for his featured appearance.

Mullins described working with Mineo on the track as quite an honor.

“Andy Mineo was the first person I thought of for the guest vocal on this song,” he explains. “The part just seemed perfect for his style. I’m a huge fan of Andy’s music, so it was an honor to collaborate on this one with him.”

As far as the overall track, the frontman describes self-worth as one of the themes behind it.

“The song is about how hard it can be to remain purpose-driven and intentional with what you pursue when you don’t know who you can trust along the way,” Mullins explains. “Trying to stay true to yourself when it feels like the world wants you to fail.”
