MEST lose control of van in winter conditions, offer update

While on tour with Reel Big Fish, MEST were involved in a car accident due to weather conditions while on their way to Fargo from Missoula, Montana. However, all members of the pop-punk band don’t appear to have any serious injuries.

Luckily, the accident did not involve any other drivers. Additionally, the band’s trailer popped off during the event, which ultimately prevented further damages.

According to an Instagram post from frontman Tony Lovato, the band lost control of the van after hitting a patch of black ice. In a separate Instagram post from Adrian Estrella, the band were going about 30 mph.

“This tour has been a rough one,” Lovato says in the Instagram post. “We’ve had to get towed 2 times before this. This one got away from us. Lost control and went down in the bank and up the hill. Thankfully the trailer popped off, otherwise we would of rolled for sure and entered The Upside Down.”

“As much as I can brush this shit off, see the positive that we are all still alive, it’s the moments of silence when I start to reflect and think of the other possible outcome,” Lovato continues. “I have a 4 year old son at home. He’s one of the main reasons I still do this. But last night could of left him without a dad. That shit fucks me up.”

Last night while driving from Missoula Montana on our way to Fargo, ND we hit some black ice. This tour has been a rough one. We had to get towed 2 times before this. This one got away from us. Lost control and went down in the bank and up the hill. Thankfully the trailer popped off, other wise we would of rolled for sure and entered The Upside Down. Luckily no one was seriously injured. Just the typical banged up shit. As much as I can brush this shit off, see the positive that we are all still alive, it’s the moments of silence when I start to reflect and think of the other possible outcome. I have a 4 year old son at home. He’s one of the main reasons I still do this. But last night could of left him without a dad. That shit fucks me up. #lifesucksletsdance #mest #reelbigfish #altpress
