The book features exclusive interviews with members James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich and Kirk Hammett and tells a visual story with never-before-seen photos taken during the creation of the album and its subsequent tour. In the exclusive clip below, the band reminisce on that era of their career.

“It’s a beyond detailed piece of work that should bring out lots of emotions and lots of memories,” says drummer Lars Ulrich.

Metallica: Back to the Front also features interviews with other important people in the band’s history, including managers Cliff Burnstein and Peter Mensch, Faith No More guitarist Jim Martin, Anthrax band members Scott Ian and Charlie Benante.

“I’m so glad that we’ve had a lot of these people in our lives and they continue to be with us,” says James Hetfield. “There are people in the crew that have been with us close to 30 years. It’s unbelievable. For them to be able to be a part of this book too and write their story and what they remember is very cool.”

Master Of Puppets still proves to be one of the group’s most influential records, with songs like “Battery,” “Welcome Home (Sanitarium)” and the title track, “Master Of Puppets,” still being some of the most popular tracks during the band’s live performances.
